Chuck Howard, PE will be featured on the PENC Webinar Series from the Professional Engineers of North Carolina on April 25 from Noon – 1PM. Below are details on the Webinar.
An Engineered Approach to Roofs Lasting Over 100 Years
This webinar explains to engineers how existing flat roofs can be converted to slightly sloped new metal standing seam roofs. This process involves several levels of required engineering which, by code, must be done by an engineer licensed in the state where this work will be performed. While it has proven to be very popular to facility owners in the NC public sector, such as K-12 schools, universities, community colleges, prisons, etc., the concept consists of engineer problem solving that is not known by many engineers or architects. This seminar will explain the basics, show current examples how it is permanently solving roofing problems for the lifetime of the buildings instead of 15 to 20 years, and why this approach is the most cost effective solution (by a factor of over 3 to 1) for this important building component.
Chuck Howard has a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from The Ohio State University and has Professional Engineering licenses in North Carolina, Virginia, South Carolina, Florida, Alabama, Missouri, Tennessee, Indiana, Ohio, Maryland, Tennessee, WV, GA. LA, and Texas.Chuck has 38 years of design/build metal building and metal roofing experience. Designed and installed over 30 million SF or metal roofs, both new and retrofit.
